Vascular Testing
In addition to the other surgical and healthcare services we offer, our office is equipped with an Accredited Peripheral Vascular Lab and is ready to perform your vascular ultrasound testing. Unlike some labs in our area, our testing is read by our vascular surgeons, the same physicians who treat vascular diseases. For the convenience of patients, we try to schedule testing and the follow up physician appointment on the same day, when possible.
We also perform vascular screening tests. No referral is required! Call today to schedule!

Intima-Media Thickness
To help estimate your risk for cardiovascular disease, the thickness of the inner carotid artery wall, called the intima and media, is measured. Thickening of the intima-media layers is the earliest anatomical evidence of atherosclerosis. Studies have show that as the CIMT increases, the risk of atherosclerosis also increases, causing cardiovascular events such as heart attack (MI) and stroke. Proper treatment of the cardiovascular risk factors contributing to plaque formation can be proven by measurements showing decreases in the CIMT.
